Fresh Food Fund

Fresh Food Fund

An Initiative Of The Red Hills Small Farm Alliance

PURPOSE:

Fresh Food Fund donations connect underserved residents of Tallahassee and beyond with fresh produce and food products grown or produced on farms within a 100-mile radius of Tallahassee utilizing current and proven food distribution methods.

Funds raised through Fresh Food Fund (FFF) will be used to purchase fresh produce and food products from the Red Hills Online Market.

These products will be donated to and distributed by:

· Second Harvest of the Big Bend

· FSU Food Pantry (Food for Thought)

· Frenchtown Neighborhood Improvement Association

These three organizations have established a successful and proven process for collecting and distributing fresh, nutritional food for our neighbors facing hunger and food insecurity throughout the Red Hills region of North Florida and South Georgia.

Since 2010, RHSFA has been selling fresh produce and food products from over 100 farmers, ranchers, and producers within a 100-mile radius of Tallahassee, Florida, through the Red Hills Online Market/RHOM.

RHSFA purchases products directly from RHOM farmers and producers whom they have established a relationship with over the past 15 years, resulting in accountability, and clear knowledge of how food is raised and who is raising it. All producers must have the proper permits for their products and abide by state and local regulations.

The locally grown food, picked from at the farm, is delivered each week where its taste and nutritional value are at their peak. Many items are seasonal, only available during certain ties of the year, which ensures freshness.
